Roles & Responsibilities
- Review crane operational standards, certification and instructions.
- Review lifting accessories certification and pre-use inspection.
- Review the Check Lists and explain the process and paperwork.
- Observe and note all aspects of the crane operation, risk assessments, job planning and toolbox talks, etc.
- Complete a pre-use check of the crane and review weekly checklist and shift / crane hand over document.
- Supervise by direct observation and supplement by oral questions when necessary.
- Observe and note all aspects of procedures, processes & Communication between crane operator & Deck crew (Banksman/Signalman/Riggers)
- Safe crane operation and ability in handling emergency situation during crane operations.
- Observe end of work procedures, crane shut-down, Emergency load lowering and handover procedures.
- Review completed PMRs to verify status, Discuss with CO and on board MS on findings and possible improvements, update onshore ACC.
Requirements
- Reasonably good in both written and spoken English.
- 7 years of experience in offshore crane operations.
- Capable of reading and interpreting equipment drawings, manufacturers maintenance manuals and load limit chart.
- Fully familiar with API RP 2D on standard crane operations and maintenance.
- Able to work at heights in excess of 30 meters during inclement weather conditions.
- Sound physical condition and capable of withstanding long periods in inclement weather.
- Also capable of climbing towers, vessel and structure.
- Possess Crane Operator Level 3 qualifications including completion of a Company-approved training program or recertification not more than 2 years.
